The Hampton Sisters

The Hampton Sisters were members of a family “who dominated the music scene on Indiana Avenue in the 1940s and ’50s” (David Baker).

Of the four sisters, Aletra Hampton-Kerley and Virtue Hampton Whitted are the only ones buried at Crown Hill. (1915-2007, Section 212 Lot 316) (1922-2007, Abby, B-6-D)
