Noble Lycester Biddinger (1909 – 1971)

Biddinger was raised in Bentonville, IN (Fayette County). Upon graduation in 1929, he went on to Indiana University, where he was a three-time outdoor All-American for the Hoosiers, participating in the hammer throw. He still stands as Indiana’s only All-American in the hammer throw.

Indiana won their first NCAA indoor title in 1932 behind the efforts of Biddinger. The Hoosiers also won a Big Ten title in 1932. In 1933, he earned the highest honor at Indiana University, the Big Ten Medal, given to the senior to have shown the greatest scholastic and athletic excellence. He participated in the 1932 Olympic Trials but did not make the team.

After college, he was an investment banker in Indianapolis, but he kept his IU connection, serving as IU Alumni Association President.
