Letter from the President – May 2020
Thank you for continuing to support our mission to preserve and celebrate the architectural, cultural and natural heritage of the city’s oldest urban green space, Crown Hill Cemetery.
During these uncertain times and with the impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on our community, employees and families, please know our team is still here to assist you.
In following the recommendations of the local government, and in the interest of the safety of our visitors and employees during the COVID-19 pandemic, our Foundation tours and events are cancelled through the beginning of June. This includes the Crown Hill Memorial Day program, our 24th Annual Spirit of Freedom event and our Racing Legends event.
Memorial Day is a big day for Crown Hill — a celebration of patriotism, pride and freedom. A Hoosier fixture for more than 150 years, it is the longest-running Memorial Day ceremony in Indiana. Because we can’t share this amazing event in person this year, we will be producing a short video to celebrate and honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. This video will transport viewers to the past and invite them to reflect on the present. It will be posted on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, on the Crown Hill Foundation website and the various Crown Hill social media outlets.
If you haven’t done so already, please like our Facebook and Twitter pages, where we will continue to keep you updated. And visit our website at www.crownhillhf.org for more information.
Thank you for your understanding, support and generosity, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
David Rieck, President
Crown Hill Foundation
