The Quaker Way of Death

Quakers have always been a small and distinctive group, but they were among Indiana’s first settlers and have had a significant impact on the state’s history. One of their distinctive practices, at least before 1900, was how they approached death. This talk will look at Quaker attitudes toward funerals, graveyards, obituaries, and “a good death” generally.
