  • Join us on Friday, April 29th, as we celebrate the 150th Anniversary of National Arbor Day! Led by our new arborist, Carrie Tauscher, we will be planting 25 native trees at 10 am, and, at noon, she will lead a cemetery walkabout to explore the beautiful trees of Crown Hill.

  • Join us on March 30 at Indiana Landmarks Center for a talk about the origins of the nation’s first public parks – “rural cemeteries.” David Barnett, the former President of Mount Auburn Cemetery and the American Public Gardens Association, will speak to the first large-scale designed green spaces open to the public in North America.

  • In 2021 we completely revised our Tree Tour, labeled 52 trees on a new route, and created a beautiful, color TREE MAP! We invite you to join Crown Hill’s new staff Arborist on this walking tour as she shares many fascinating facts about some of these lovely specimens!

  • On this driving tour, we will complete a shortened version of Crown Hill’s Self-Guided Racing Legends Tour and visit the graves of the four founders of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, racecar drivers, auto manufacturers, and others who have made Indianapolis “the racing capital of the world.”

Tours & Events Calendar

We offer a variety of tour themes from May through October. Most are held on Saturday nights and scheduled so participants can see the sunset from the top of Crown Hill, the highest hill in the county.

Led by knowledgeable tour guides, these tours offer an opportunity for you to enjoy Crown Hill at the most beautiful time of day and experience nature at its finest. Please join us!
