Hoosier-born Todd studied at the Indianapolis High School, Pratt Institute in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the John Herron Art Institute. She later taught at Herron and then Shortridge High School, influencing some of the future, leading artists in the city.

She exhibited her tiles, greeting cards, paintings and pastels and was a charter member of the Indianapolis Artists Club, a group still in existence today that works to connect artists to the greater Indianapolis community. Todd served as both vice president and director of the Club. The Indianapolis Public Schools district owns and displays several of her works.
