Dr. Link, Moon Gazing, and Crown Hill Cemetery with the Indiana Astronomical Society

What does Crown Hill Cemetery have to do with the sky? Besides the best view of the city skyline, Crown Hill has buried on the grounds Dr. Goethe Link, a prominent Indianapolis surgeon and avid amateur astronomer. This program is in two parts: first, we’ll discover the life of Dr. Link, the Link Observatory, and the Indiana Astronomical Society. After the short presentation, weather permitting, we’ll move onto the cemetery grounds where members of the Indiana Astronomical Society will have telescopes to view the moon and other celestial objects (Indy is too bright for true star gazing). While you don’t need to bring your telescope, attendees are welcome to bring one if they wish. And, if you have questions about how to operate it, members of the Indiana Astronomical Society can assist and offer guidance.

Please dress COMFORTABLY for the weather and some walking. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.
