Special Partnerships

Stantec’s employees at the start of their day of service.

What do dentists, HR companies, archaeologists, and biologists all have in common? They all support the work of the Crown Hill Foundation. Without their donations, hands on deck, and support, we could not complete so much.

Brookschool Dental Care and hygienist Alyssa Dinius donated hundreds of toothbrushes. Why, you ask? Those brushes help our volunteers clean tombstones. The denture brushes are a particular favorite for getting into intricate carvings, carved letters, and small spaces. Volunteer Jim Moore donated three battery-operated water pumps so we can clean off all the dirt, lichen and debris from those tombstones more easily.

Employees from Direct Employees Association came out and retrieved flags placed for Memorial Day, then cleaned stones for more than 50 veterans.

Stantec, a cultural resource management firm, sent out 50 of their employees for a day of service. This band of archaeologists, biologists, environmental managers, and others were able to help clear debris and invasive species from the South Woods, which we are developing into a science and nature learning area. Over 10 acres were cleaned! Others from the group cleaned tombstones while the archaeology team used non-invasive investigation to find the exact location of the third superintendent’s house along Boulevard Place.
