The Phantom & The Phantom Singers!

Brought to you by the Crown Hill Heritage Foundation, our “MUSIC OF THE NIGHT” concerts are something you won’t want to miss! Held in Crown Hill’s beautiful and historic Gothic Chapel (1875), these concerts feature professional organist Charles Manning as “The Phantom,” along with awesome “Phantom Singers,” Brianna Holt and John Shuffle. They will perform music from the famous “Phantom of the Opera,” as well as many familiar TV & movie themes that are sure to please. Mr. Manning and the “Phantom Singers” will fill the evening with their wonderful musical gifts as well as humor and drama, followed by ghoulish refreshments!

Start Times!

New this year! The six concerts will be held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights of the last two weekends of October in the historic Gothic Chapel. The two Thursday concerts will now start an hour earlier than the Friday and Saturday concerts, making them more work and school-friendly. We invite you to join us for a 7 pm concert on Thursdays or an 8 pm concert on Fridays and Saturdays!

Lights & Sound Effects!

Much to everyone’s delight was the introduction of the incredible lighting and sound effects during our 2018 concerts, provided by Christopher Manning! We’re exited to welcome Christopher back in 2019 and we can’t wait to see what he’s got planned for this year’s concerts!

Refreshments

Following the concerts our guests will be treated to hot apple cider, bottled water, apples, and Long’s Donuts! What’s not to love about that?! Note that outside food and drinks and not permitted in the chapel. Gates open at 5:30 pm on Thursdays and 6:30 on Fridays and Saturdays; feel free to come early and tailgate.  Following refreshments you will have the opportunity to take our super-popular Skeletons in the Closet, Part I walking tour – in the dark – conducted by one of Crown Hill’s expert tour guides, Tom Davis. This is all included in your ticket price!

Skeletons in the Closet, Part I Walking Tour

On this tour, we’ll visit many graves and learn the secrets that some had thought they’d carried to their grave. (Please note that this is not a creepy tour about ghosts, just interesting facts.) The tour will follow refreshments and will last about an hour. Flashlights are recommended, along with good walking shoes. Please dress warmly; our tour takes us to the top of the Crown in the dark and it’s often chilly and windy in the late fall. (Walking up the steep hill to the top of Crown Hill is optional.) Please note that the walking tour is included with the concert ticket and that “tour only” tickets will not be sold.

Tickets!

Once ticket sales begin you can order your tickets for any night right from this page! 2019 is the 13th year we’ve presented these entertaining “Music of the Night” concerts and we’ve sold out (or had a few seats left on one or two nights) the last 12 years, so you’re encouraged to buy your tickets well in advance! Seating is very limited. Tickets are non-refundable. (For other ticket information – not to purchase – call Marianne at 317-920-4165, or send an email to development@crownhill.org.)

Children

Due to the intensity of some of the performances, these concerts are not recommended for children under 8 years old.

Wheelchair Seating

Due to the unique seating in the Gothic Chapel for the concerts, we can accommodate one wheelchair per concert in the Main Chapel, and one wheelchair ticket per concert is available for purchase. You must purchase a wheelchair ticket to have a wheelchair in the Main Chapel. If it is sold, you must choose another night or purchase a Vestibule ticket. Note that the wheelchair tickets may only be used by guests who must use a wheelchair. If these seats are not purchased for wheelchair seating they will be released for sale to the general public.

Take a virtual tour of the historic Gothic Chapel

Our intimate concert venue is a historic treasure! Built in 1875, the Gothic Chapel is one of the most beautiful chapels around. Typically locked throughout the year except for memorial services, concerts, and special events, our “Music of the Night” concerts provide a unique opportunity to experience its beauty, amazing custom-built organ, and fantastic acoustics. Professional organist and Phantom of the Opera Charles Manning delights all with his incredible talents! Check out the Google Maps tour of the Gothic Chapel below! For the concerts, the Main Chapel seats are arranged all facing into the middle. The Vestibule seats, located right inside the front door, are arranged down the middle – with no aisle like you see in the video below – so that you can see the Phantom Singers. You can also watch and hear them on two new monitor screens and speakers. (Sometimes we have seats available in the chapel due to people with Chapel seats being unable to attend, and we typically offer the unused seats to those sitting in the Vestibule. Please note that these seats are often not together, but it’s still worth watching from inside the chapel!)
