Tickets go on sale June 1st!

Back by popular demand! Please join us for one of our 12th Annual "MUSIC OF THE NIGHT" concerts held on the 3rd and 4th weekends of October! The dates are October 18, 19, 20 and 25, 26, 27!

Brought to you by the Crown Hill Heritage Foundation, our "MUSIC OF THE NIGHT" concerts are something you won't want to miss! Held in Crown Hill's beautiful and historic Gothic Chapel (1875), these concerts feature professional organist Charles Manning as "The Phantom," along with awesome "Phantom Singers," Leah Crane and John Shuffle. They will perform music from the famous "Phantom of the Opera," as well as many familiar TV & movie themes that are sure to please. Mr. Manning and the "Phantom Singers" will fill the evening with their wonderful musical gifts as well as humor and drama, followed by ghoulish refreshments!

In addition to the amazing concert, also included in the ticket price is our ever-popular "Skeletons in the Closet, Part I" guided walking tour (description below) conducted by one of Crown Hill's expert tour guides, Tom Davis. On this tour we'll visit many graves and learn the secrets that some had thought they'd carried to their grave. (Please note that this is not a creepy tour about ghosts, just interesting facts.) The tour will last about an hour and will progress at a comfortable pace. (Walking up the steep hill to the top of Crown Hill is optional.) Please note that the "Skeletons in the Closet" walking tour is included with the concert ticket and that "tour only" tickets will not be sold.

The six concerts will be held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights of the last two weekends of October. Each evening they will be held in the historic Gothic Chapel at 8:00 pm. Following the concerts refreshments will be served, and the guided walking tour will begin at approximately 9:25 pm and will last about an hour or so. The tours will depart outside in front of the chapel. Flashlights are recommended, along with good walking shoes. Please dress warmly; our tour takes us to the top of the Crown in the dark and it's often chilly and windy in late fall.

"Skeletons in the Closet,
Part I"

Was it one of his three wives, or another long-time lover, that Skiles Test kept in a glass coffin in his House of Blue Lights along Fall Creek? Why does one headstone say simply "Mother of Rosalind" and not her full name, which would have been Helen Orr Hufnall Phaff English Wegmann English English Prince Prince? Though best known for her efforts in improving the cultural life of Indianapolis by getting women the right to vote, did May Wright Sewall also communicate with her dead husband Theodore and others who were beyond the grave? On this tour (in the dark!) we'll discuss these and others whose private lives may have been more interesting than their public ones. Note: this is not a creepy tour about ghosts, but a historical tour about some of the people buried at Crown Hill.

Our intimate concert venue is a historic treasure! Built in 1875, the Gothic Chapel is one of the most beautiful chapels around. Typically locked throughout the year except for memorial services, concerts, and special events, our "Music of the Night" concerts provide a unique opportunity to experience its beauty, amazing custom-built organ, and fantastic acoustics. Professional organist and Phantom of the Opera Charles Manning delights all with his incredible talents! Check out the Google Maps tour of the Gothic Chapel below! For the concerts, the Main Chapel seats are arranged all facing into the middle. The Vestibule seats, located right inside the front door, are arranged down the middle - with no aisle like you see in the video below - so that you can see the Phantom Singers. You can also watch and hear them on two new monitor screens and speakers. (Sometimes we have seats available in the chapel due to people with Chapel seats being unable to attend, and we typically offer the unused seats to those sitting in the Vestibule. Please note that these seats are often not together, but it's still worth watching from inside the chapel!)
