BEYOND THE BADGE 5K Run/Walk ... "A Time to Say Thanks!"
Sunday, September 23, 2012

Join with many hundreds on Sunday morning, September 23, 2012 for the 11th Annual Beyond the Badge 5K Run/Walk, benefitting the Jason M. Baker Public Safety Scholarships! Whether you want to run or walk the 5K, compete on a Public Safety or Civilian team, take a 1.5-mile stroll to the Heroes of Public Safety Monument & Section, pitch-in as a volunteer or sponsor, or cheer as a spectator - we welcome you!

This event is an opportunity to HONOR THE COURAGE OF HEROES while also RAISING FUNDS for others to pursue a degree in Public Safety through the Jason M. Baker Public Safety Scholarships, awarded annually to a deserving student. For those who serve in Public Safety today we THANK YOU for your selfless sacrifices. For those who - like JASON - have paid the ultimate price for our safety, we REMEMBER and HONOR them. We SPEAK THEIR NAMES and SHARE THEIR STORIES.

Check out the photos below. It's a fun event, one for families. You'll get to enjoy the serene routes through the rolling hills and beautiful trees of Crown Hill Cemetery. We're the 3rd largest (non-government) cemetery in the United States on 550 acres with 25 miles of paved roads and history dating back to the Revolutionary War. It's a closed course (no traffic) with roaming deer and an opportunity to conquer "The Crown," the highest hill in the county!
